Housing Initiative
By developing and executing a neighborhood plan, in conjunction with, and with the support of the residents of the neighborhood, Jubilee has been acquiring land, building new affordable homes, renovating existing homes for interested homeowners, assisting homeowners obtain necessary financing, and facilitating the development of quality-for-rent housing. Jubilee has built three(3) homes and is working with the City of Dallas to purchase 200 lots. The goal of the Housing Committee is to ensure residents in the Jubilee neighborhood have access to quality for-rent and for-sale housing. Jubilee has also entered into an agreement with Dallas City Homes, a nonprofit organization that specializes in building affordable housing. Jubilee has purchased 3 4-plexes adjacent to the community center. The 4-plexes have been razed and discussions are underway to use the property, along with 1 other previously purchased, to build affordable housing for Senior Citizens. Jubilee is working with Texas Real Estate Commission and Dallas City Homes to measure the effectiveness, need, and feasibility of the project.
