----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The Jubilee Family Literacy Project is managed by Mary Hernandez, Literacy Director. Mary received her Bachelors of Science degree in Speech and Drama from Texas Women's University. Her experience spans thirty years, during which time she has worked as business owner, literacy volunteer with adults, volunteer tutor to children, youth and families, program director for educational support services, including college scholarships, workforce development and one on one tutoring. As a degreed professional, she also obtained her Non Profit Leadership and Management Certificate through The Center for Nonprofit Management, SMU and Brookhaven Community College. She is most proud of her students who are preparing for the GED exam. They meet tremendous personal obstacles everyday-"I want to assure them that I am on this journey and I will do whatever it takes to help them pass their GED test." She is a believe that learning can be fun and all students, no matter their age, can reach their fullest potential in achieving personal educational goals. Reading is her passion and she finds every opportunity to share that passion with all her students. |
