Summer Enrichment Program

The Jubilee Center Summer Program stresses the importance of education.  We understand all children can learn when they are nurtured and taught by knowledgeable and caring adults who believe in them and who are committed to sharing with them the joys of learning.  In our Summer Program we realize children must be listenIMG_0650.JPGed to, treated with respect and offered opportunities to learn about the joys of reading and their rich culture.  Reading is the key that unlocks the door to a child's potential.  The Summer Program is offered to help accomplish these goals.  We also realize parents play a vital role and often need support and educational training themselves.  Jubilee is a constant support to all those with issues of concern.

The program is offered during the months of June and July.  Children participate in reading, math, sports, field trips, arts and crafts, cooking classes, activities in the community garden in addition to many other fun and enriching activities.  College interns are the lead teachers while many Saint Michael students volunteer to help make this a wonderful program.

Once again the Saint Michael Community and the Jubilee Community will team up for the Summer Enrichment Program for Summer 2010.  This program IMG_0972.JPGpairs each Saint Michael Volunteer with a Jubilee child to work together on reading and other enrichment activities.  Volunteers must be at least rising Ninth graders, however Senior High, college age students and adults are welcome too.  Transportation will not be provided this year, so if there are any parents that would like to help with carpool that will be greatly appreciated.  More information will be available as summer approaches.
