Youth After School and Summer Programs    (en español)

The program is designed to work closely with 6th-12th grade adolescents to help combat many of the frightening issues that this vulnerable age group faces on a daily IMG_1859.JPGbasis.  The programs aim to decrease the escalating truancy and high school drop out rate (currently 79%).  They provide critically needed education about drug and alcohol use, as well as, gang intervention.  Efforts are underway to establish a program for teenagers on sexually transmitted diseases.  There are a variety of activities, including computer instruction, career guidance, life skill education, anger-management, nutrition and wellness education, personal and spiritual development, and college preparation.  In the summer, groups of kids attend camps in Colorado, Michigan anIMG_1843.JPGd Missouri.
