The Community Garden provides opportunities for students to strengthen reading, math, and science skills while working hands-on with all facets of the gardening process from preparation to harvesting. Because the neighborhood is located in a food desert, an urban neighborhood where healthy, affordable food is difficult to obtain, this is the first encounter that many children have with the natural growing process and with healthy, organic foods!

Jubilee’s Community Garden is located on the corner of Bank and Parry, in the north corner of the Jubilee Park. For more information about getting involved with the Community Garden, please contact Jubilee’s Facilities Manager, Dale Rettman, at drettman@jubileecenter.org or (214) 887-1364 ext. 244.
